Neighborhood Meeting Moved to September 22 | Fall Events, Social Clubs, and Dues

Howdy, Neighbors!

Our next neighborhood meeting has a new date. The meeting originally planned for August 25 has been pushed to September 22 so we can allow more time to hear back from District 1 candidates who might attend.

This change gives us a better chance to gather information from the candidates, share what we learn, and hopefully welcome some of them for a casual meet and greet. We will also use the September meeting to talk through fall activities, upcoming events, new social club ideas, neighborhood signs, and dues collection.

Please mark your calendar for Monday, September 22.

The September meeting will cover several neighborhood updates and planning items. Some of the main topics include:

• District 1 candidate information and possible meet and greet details

• Fall activities and neighborhood events

• Collection of neighborhood dues

A new Social Clubs section is coming to the website!

We are also planning to add a Social Clubs section to the neighborhood website.

This new section can host information about neighborhood clubs that residents would like to start or join. The idea is to make it easier for people with shared interests to connect without requiring every activity to become a large neighborhood-wide event.

A few examples might include:

• Morning Walk with Neighbors

• Craft Club

• Book Club

• Gardening Group

• Pickleball or tennis meetup

• Parents’ coffee group

• Casual dinner club

The Social Clubs section can include basic details such as what the club is, when it meets, who it is for, and how neighbors can learn more. It can also help newer residents find friendly ways to get involved.

A neighborhood does not need a packed calendar to feel connected. Sometimes the small recurring groups make the biggest difference. A weekly walk, a once-a-month craft night, or a shared hobby group can help neighbors meet people they might not otherwise run into.

If there is a group you would like to see, or one you would be willing to help start, please think about it before the September meeting.

A club does not need to be fully planned before it can be mentioned. Even a rough idea is enough to begin. For example, someone might say they would enjoy a morning walking group but does not know which day works best. That is a perfect starting point.

New neighborhood signs are on the wish list

We are also looking into having new neighborhood signs made. This is a great example of where neighborhood dues come in handy.

Signs help make entrances, shared areas, and event notices feel more cared for and easier to identify. They can also support communication when we have meetings, seasonal activities, or neighborhood updates to share.

Here are the initial designs for our proposed signage, the core idea is to keep these concise and reusable for events beyond the previous Tuesday Night meeting signs.

Neighborhood dues will be collected at the next meeting

Neighborhood dues (10$) will be collected at the September 22 meeting.

Dues help cover shared projects and neighborhood needs, including items like signs, communication materials, event supplies, and other improvements that benefit the community. They give the neighborhood more flexibility to take care of practical items without having to start from scratch each time a need comes up.

If you plan to attend the September meeting, please be prepared for dues collection. More details can be shared at the meeting, including how funds are being used and what upcoming expenses may be expected.
